Good people lose their days to bad processes
We started Asle Data Labs to give them that time back.
Why we started
Walk into almost any office in Ghana at the end of the month and you’ll find someone who stayed late.
The work wasn’t hard. The figures just had to be copied from one system into a spreadsheet, checked against another spreadsheet, corrected, and copied again before the management meeting. Down the corridor, a request is waiting for a signature from someone who’s travelling. At the front desk, a customer is being asked for documents they’ve already handed in twice.
None of these people is the problem. Most of them are good at their jobs and stretched thin. The problem is how the work was set up. The process grew one workaround at a time, the systems never learned to talk to each other, and the report turns up a week after the decision it was meant to inform.
Then AI arrived, sold as a product. Organisations were told to buy a tool, launch a chatbot or automate something, usually before anyone had looked at how the work actually runs. Some got value from it. Many got a new tool sitting on top of the same old mess.
We started Asle Data Labs because we think most organisations here don’t have an AI problem. They have a process problem, and AI would only make it run faster.
So we work the other way round. We sit with the people who do the work, find out where their week is really going, and fix that first. Then we bring in data and AI where they help, built for the systems, budgets and regulators Ghanaian organisations actually deal with. We’ll know it worked when people go home on time at month end.
Asle was founded by Eleazer Fordjour Quayson, whose career has run through product management, data analysis, machine learning development and legal tech advocacy. That’s why we can sit with a management team in the morning and be inside their data in the afternoon. In most organisations, those are two different firms.
Asle Data Labs is a registered company in Ghana, based at No. 34, First Labone St., Accra, Ghana, and registered with the Data Protection Commission. We sign confidentiality agreements on request, and we use the information you share only for the work it was shared for.
Promises
What we won’t do
Sell you software
We don’t resell anything and we don’t take commissions, so the only thing we’re trying to sell you is a fix.
Automate a broken process
If the work is badly designed, we fix the design first. Automate it as it stands and you just get the mess faster.
Hand you a report and leave
We stay until the change is working and your people can run it without us.
Leadership
Who you’ll be working with
Eleazer Fordjour Quayson
Founder
Eleazer started Asle Data Labs to join up two jobs that usually sit in different firms: working out how an organisation really runs, and building the data and AI tools that change it. As a product manager in legal technology, Eleazer has worked on how Ghanaian lawyers find and use case law, and has trained lawyers at an Accra law firm on writing AI prompts for legal work. Eleazer holds an MSc in Business Analytics from the University of Ghana, works in data analysis and machine learning development, and writes on technology in legal practice.
